Job Summary: Truck Driver works as a Boiler Maker when not driving. Driver ensures that loads are secured on vehicle and operates a 48,600 pound commercial truck loaded with a heat exchangers or metal parts. Sometimes Driver operates a pickup truck. Boiler Maker duties include metal parts assembly, taking used heat exchangers apart for re-tubing and refurbishing, bolting metal parts, grinding metal, sanding metal, using impact wrenches, operating lifting equipment, cutting metal, and hydrostatic leak checking, hydro blasting and abrasive blasting. Working conditions are hot, noisy, dusty, dirty, and cold. The job often requires standing for long periods of time.. Requires the ability to bend, push/pull, twist, squat, crawl, climb, and to avoid pinch hazards and normal shop hazards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintains his own commercial driver''s license (Class B or A) and an acceptable driving recordRecords an inspection of the commercial vehicle assigned to use before each day of drivingSecures loads on vehicles and ensures that loads are secured on the vehicle Performs minor repairs and maintenance for company owned trucksFollows all traffic laws, is courteous to other drivers, and understands the importance of representing the company and providing a positive image of the companyCourier for Foreman using company owned pickup truck, or other duties as assignedPerforms Boiler Maker tasks when not doing duties of a driverUses compressed air and electric equipment including but not limited to circular hand grinders, impact (hydraulic) wrenches, band saws, and hand drillsGrinds and sands large metal plates (tube sheets, baffles, and supporting parts)Pushes metal tubes into metal tube sheet and metal baffle assembliesRemoves tubes with tube pulling equipment, sledge hammers, or cutting equipmentPhysically lifts 30 pound items, may use bridge cranes, and may become certified to use forkliftsPerforms assigned tasks in a safe manner and does not perpetuate unsafe practicesSets up and performs jobs based on shop practices and safety proceduresCleans up debris as needed and does yard housekeepingWe offer our employees a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package and are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
