Basic Function: The production line mechanic will be responsible for all production maintenance, including product quality control, line maintenance, and repair of line machinery and equipment. This role involves applying mechanical expertise in determining work methods and procedures for producing quality product. Responsibilities: Work with little to no supervision Always work in a safe manner and wear proper PPE Bring any unsafe condition to Shift Supervisor''s attention Able to recognize can defects and understand the importance of good quality Follow all applicable quality checks and standard operating procedures in a timely fashion Maintain tools and machinery in good working order Complete preventive maintenance as required and scheduled Troubleshoot sources of problems by observing mechanical equipment in operation Replace defective parts and adjusting equipment Control downtime by performing routine maintenance and instructing workers on the proper operation of equipment Assist with training new employees as needed Use machine shop instrumentation and equipment to repair parts Maintain equipment parts and supplies inventories accurately Use lockout/tagout procedures when necessary Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition Assist other production or quality areas as needed and complete other duties as assigned Requirements: High School Diploma or GED 3-5 years'' experience in a maintenance of Can Assembly Presses within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience Maintenance and repair of waxers, scroll shears and Cone Top presses. Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blue prints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc. Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges Basic understanding of systems, equipment and schematics Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good troubleshooting skills Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions Ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties EEO Statement Mauser Packaging Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
