Pharmacy Technician III - AdventHealth Apopka Location Address: 2100 OCOEE APOPKA ROAD, Apopka, 32703 Top Reasons to work at AdventHealth - Apopka AdventHealth Apopka is a seven-story, 120-bed hospital offering an extensive range of services including expanded surgical services, advanced surgical suites and a catheterization lab The hospital also features a 30,000-square-foot emergency department with pediatric-friendly beds, imaging services, a full-service cafeteria, chapel, gift shop and on-site fire station The hospital opened in December 2017, replacing the 50-bed hospital that AdventHealth had operated in downtown Apopka for more than four decades Work Hours/Shift: Full Time/Evenings 2:30PM-11PM with every other weekend You Will Be Responsible For: Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in: Standard work parameters Operational programs Delivery and compounding systems Hospital computer systems Medication ordering systems Maintains operational expertise in and actively provides coverage of the technician services provided by Central Pharmacy IV Room Delivery Controlled Substances AND (at least one of the following): Oncology Compounding Quality Assurance & Sampling Technician Inventory Check Medication History Clinical Services Oversees appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems Accurately interprets electronic records Maintains expertise in Cerner processes Manages proper and complete patient profile record Accurately oversees the management of medication inventories and the preparation and delivery of patient"specific medication doses Manages medication delivery activities Prepares accurate medication products for delivery Prevents improper drug, dose, dosage form selection, expiration dating, and barcode scanning issues when checking products Performs oral and injectable product compounding QualificationsWhat You Will Need: Required: High School Degree One year of Contemporary hospital pharmacy experience Registered Pharmacy Technician in their respective state If applicable to facility Sterile Compounding Certification Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in a physical science, business or healthcare Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT), or from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Job Summary: Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage, as listed on patient orders. Supports pharmacists and provides distributive pharmacy services. To provide safe and accurate medication services and to support all those involved in direct patient care.
