Your tasks Position Description Summary: This is a leadership role inside the CL Americas Solutions and Execution Standards (SES) team leading engineering services for the regional business unit (all verticals) in parallel with solutions management, ops excellence, program management, quality management, and business operations. Key responsibilities include: leading teams of industrial engineers supporting technical engineering services to the business, define and deploy execution standards and product methods across verticals, establish and manage engineering labor model used to price new business, support labor management services and engineered standards in the field, develop/manage and own engineering standards in design, manage engineering talent/resources (create effective teams), collaborate with IT solutions on deployment of new technology, drive and support process/standards into field quality management, support and lead operational excellence in the field. Engineering services lead by this organization: 1. Technical engineering analysis (six sigma, process simulation, analytics-statistics, FMEA, sensitivity analysis, sampling) 2. Facility layout/design (CAD, racking, automation-mechanization, WCS-WMS process/IT alignment) 3. Process design/optimization (slotting, ABC/zone/batch, cluster design, scheduling, line balancing, capacity planning) 4. MHE specification (vendor engagement, engineering standards, engineering specifications, design) 5. Labor modeling/productivity (time/motion, LMS services, MOST, efficiency analysis, statistics-analytics) 6. Execution standards (process flow, define/document product method standards) 7. Manufacturing product methods/services design (VAP, co-pack, assembly, MRP, forecasting, postponement) 8. Supply chain modeling (transportation modeling, network optimization, inventory analysis, CoG study) Principal Accountabilities: (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.): § Responsible for 6-8 direct reports (as well as budgetary responsibility) inside the regional (shared) engineering services team supporting CL in the Americas; member of the regional solutions and execution standards (SES) leadership team. Responsible for strategy, management, and support of engineering services to the BU spanning key objectives noted above. § Develop, lead, and manage effective teams supporting the regional BU and SES objectives (all verticals and services). Lead talent management, recruiting, and team building requirements. Develop, improve, and support an effective team culture centered on customer ops excellence, execution standards, and innovation. Ensure career progression, development, sustainability in the team (be the champion to develop the engineers and support their career advancement). Create cross-functional alignment with operations, IT, and solutions to support the greater logistics BU. § Create and manage engineering teams to lead technical engineering analysis and design work to support both new business development and existing operational needs spanning DM, TM, and supply chain services. § Support new business development process with engineering design, labor modeling, layout design, and deployment of execution standards. Provide client-facing support during the sales cycle to support design planning, engineering analysis, and solutions planning. § Create consistency and alignment in execution standards and product methods deployed to the field. Provide support to operational field for sustaining LMS/WFM deployment of engineered standards to the field. Establish and manage engineering design standards and deploy team change control disciplines to ensure consistency in deployment, use, and how exceptions are managed § Leadership and alignment of warehouse site/field engineering resources based in the field to ensure deployment and utilization of engineering standards, execution standards, product/design best practices, and utilization of tools and resources in the central engineering team. § Key interface point back into global and regional engineering and Operational Excellence teams. Participate/lead innovation workshops, Kaizen events, POP workshops, and other strategic client engagements with the business owners. Key interface point back to DBS technology teams to provide support to client technology solutions and applications in the field § Lead R&D, and industry analysis. Be a leader engaging the industry in conferences, boards, and university forums. Requirements Knowledge and Skills: This is a director level position. Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and strategic skills required. This is a technical industrial engineering leadership position. Bachelor''s degree in Industrial Engineering is required. Additional MSIE and/or MBA preferred. Generally prefer 10+ years experience in leading industrial engineering teams inside logistics industry, with a minimum of 6 years of related 3PL engineering experience. Experience successfully leading virtual teams inside global organizations and/or Fortune 500 firms preferred. Operational and or Information Technology experience inside 3PL is a plus. Significant business travel required in some cases global travel (50%+).
