Contributes to the development and execution of AEP Energy Service''s Market Analytics Practice. The role is focused on producing high-quality analyses to support offerings and solutions built on insights into the energy markets and the frameworks in which they operate.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS are listed below:Perform wholesale market analysis and reports. This includes but is not limited to energy markets (basis, DA/RT, forwards, historic liquidations, futures, natural gas, and correlations), capacity markets (RTOs including Demand Response), transmission (NITS rates and tags), and ancillary servicesCollaborate with others to translate wholesale market changes into strategic opportunitiesAnalyze utility tariff costs and trends for prospective or current electric and natural gas customers under evolving market and regulatory conditions.Generate reports and market insight for internal and external consumption through personal analysis, industry articles and in collaboration with wholesale trading, risk and structuringDevelop and distribute relevant fundamental and technical analyses on energy marketsAssess value and impact of various on-site energy assets including storage, distributed generation and efficiencyGenerate customer specific analyses upon request. These include savings analyses (tariff or current supply contract); hedging/product strategies; competitor comparisons; and custom analyses Develop and maintain sales tools and aids to model customer costsDevelop and conduct presentations with sales reps for key customer opportunitiesDesign commercial structures to integrate AEP Energy''s affiliate companies'' offerings and capabilities for customer solutions (distributed generation, renewables, energy storage, etc.)Lead collaborative efforts with other practice and program areas to build out new capabilitiesWorks with Energy Market Analytics leadership to develop and advance analytical frameworks and approachesWorks with Energy Market Analytics leadership and staff and across functions to develop effective solutions to analytical and customer challengesActs as team lead and role model for other Energy Market Analysts.
