Data Science (Senior - Advisor)

This role is able to master the knowledge of various data sources across the organization, lead and critique the process of extracting data, cleaning up the data and building the data dictionary. A Data Science Advisor masters technology trends for modeling and is able to critique the models created. This role quickly identifies new technologies and experiments to make decisions on how it applies to business. This role helps shape the group strategy and processes as well as recommend industry events. Completion of an undergraduate degree in STEM and 4 to 8+ years of related experience is required. Master''s degree or Ph.D. in STEM is preferred.Responsibilities:Work with internal groups to gather application requirementsModel business operations Model complex, multi-scale data relationships Map processing steps in complex workflows Oversee development of tools for importing data Geosciences and multiscale data modeling. Required Skills:Experience developing software solutionsExcellent written and verbal communicationAdept at software problem investigation and diagnosisPreferred Skills:Data Modeling, specifically relational modeling in a SQL database systemStrong experience with three-tier architectureExperience developing software in C/C++Experience with Restful APIs and containersKnowledge of scalable storage systemsKnowledge of operating system designExperience developing POSIX system shell scriptsDesired Skills:Knowledge of wireline and core dataExperience with high performance computing and job queuing systems Familiarity with containerizationKnowledge of large-scale networking, specifically routingCandidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.
