Job Description

Your tasks Manage a TransAtlantic Ocean Trade Lane Operations team that ensures the accurate and timely movement of cargo to and from specific locations within the service standards agreed with the Customer, and as per defined Schenker Service Tasks & Responsibilities: Ensure teams works effectively and in a manner that optimizes profitability on every shipment executed Ensure that operational errors are immediately picked up, and proper corrective action is undertaken to mitigate recurrence. Act as escalation point related to any issues within internal and external teams and service providers. Resolve internal cross-team conflicts and escalate unresolved issues to next management level Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors Ensure Vendor performance is exceptional, manage Vendor visits & QBR reviews with relevant Vendor couterparts and team colleagues when required Ensure the selection of the most optimal services and Vendors (considering electronic connectivity, cost, lead times, reliability) Manage all Vendor facing communication and shipment related internal communication between DB Schenker stakeholders Manage an effective Trade Lane Operations team, incl. the hiring of new team members and ensuring proper induction is provided Ensure an appropriate and balanced workload for individual teams members and the team overall Ensure successful Implementation of new processes, standards, guidelines when required Ensure successful implementation of new business into the Trade Operations Team, taking time to clearly understand customer requirements and execute with care during the implementation phase. Continuously review performance of team and evolve processes to improve operational performance. Ensure the overall performance of the team meets and exceeds specified internal/external KPI''s, Service Level Agreements (SLA''s) Monitor team performances for quality and quantity Get actively involved in the acquisition of major FCL accounts by identifying opportunities and attending key customer meetings Deliverables & Achievables: í¼ Ensure file level profitability is reviewed to ensure Trade Lane GP is optimized í¼ Ensure accurate Cost accruals have been entered in the TMS as required (TANGO) í¼ Manage and resolve all disputes and issues with Vendors í¼ Ensure all activities in TMS (TANGO) are completed on time í¼ Ensure compliance with Customer specific KPI''s - as applicable í¼ Monitor and provide guidance for new business implementation í¼ Ensure all operational SOPs are properly followed í¼ Ensure all operational KPI''s are achieved í¼ Act in a manner which increases employees and Customer satisfaction and loyalty, maximizes shipment profitability and decreases operating expenses í¼ Promote a paperless, digital office environment utilizing all modern communication methods and electronic tools provided by DB Schenker í¼ Support a positive, attractive working atmosphere and office environment í¼ Maximize and drive the use of digital connectivity for interacting with all Vendors (exchange of electronic milestones, dispatch/bookings via EDI, etc...) í¼ Maintain regular communication with the Customer Management- and Trade Management teams about Vendor/Carrier selections- and performance í¼ Escalate service/ technical issues as needed Requirements Details/Specification/Explanation of the role specific skills This is a senior management position. A high level of business acumen and ability to perform well under pressure with attention to detail is required. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Results oriented with an ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time effectively. Must be fluent in written and spoken English. Familiar with continuous improvement methodology preferred. Bachelor''s degree or equivalent required. 10 years Freight Industry and 5 years Management experience required. The individual in this position must be capable of performing all of the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation Must be able to pass any federal/state/local government, airport, or company-required background checks, clearances, and/or drug and alcohol tests.
