General SummaryIn this role, the part-time individual or intern will assist operational supervision in all aspects of disassembly, inspection, and final assembly of complex rotating equipment. Participation in preparing inspection documentation, standardization of procedures, and documentation related to rotating equipment repair. Hours are approximately 24 hours a week.Essential FunctionsAdhere to RMS compliance safety requirementsAide in standardizing disassembly, inspection, and re-assembly documentation and procedures for high-volume / repeat Turbomachinery projects.Assemble Shop Routers for disassembly / clean / inspect projects as assigned, and upon completion of shop work, ensure proper review and closure of RoutersGather documentation and compile end-of-job repair reports with as-built information, photos of repair progression, etc.Attend daily Production Meetings to as to stay current with workload and customer expectations Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company''s discretion. Education:Eager to learn about many types of rotating equipment often used in chemical, industrial, or refining applicationsCurrently enrolled in a college level curriculum leading to a bachelor or technical degree in an engineering or related discipline preferredThis position provides on the job training.The requirements below are the minimum requirements an employee needs to fulfill this position. They are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required for the position.Strong cognitive and clear communication skills to efficiently support the service processStrong Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills to effectively drive the repair processStrong organizational skills Ability to learn applicable company procedures within a reasonable time from start of employmentComputer proficiency with a minimum of word processing, spreadsheets, and power point. Familiarity with CAD software is a plus.Self-motivated, with the ability to work in team environment, while demonstrating significant problem solving abilityAbility and willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required.Ability and willingness to be in a repair shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required.This position will primarily be based in Houston, TXEvening and weekends depending on company needsAble to understand, read, write and speak English proficientlyAuthorized to work in the United StatesAble to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol testAble to pass a pre-employment physicalPhysical Requirements While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to stand and walk for significant portions of the shift.Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs., walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance.Vision, manual dexterity and coordination sufficient carry out assigned tasks.While this position is primary stationed in an office setting, employee may have to enter shop environment and will be exposed to moving mechanical parts. While the work area may be described as generally clean, safe, and ''not loud'', there will be machining operations that generate moderate noise and metal particles.
