Software Engineer - 1st Shift

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer, in Stratford, CT.Job Description: The position is in the Enterprise Business Services (EBS) organization supporting the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Business Area. This position as a full-stack developer will require daily collaboration with team members to provide production support and develop new functionality to users of the Logcards application. The Logcards application is a business system utilized to collect manufacturing data to report up to the government.The core responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following: - Builds, codes and debugs applications and/or modules using languages: JAVA, angular, PostgreSQL- Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems.- Design user interface to meet the specific needs of customers.- Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.- Creates and supports inbound/outbound interfaces with other applications for interoperability Basic Skills - Demonstrated experience with Java, angular, and PostgreSQL to generate application and database components- Ability to understand requirement specifications using use cases, and identify requirement gaps- Ability to generate technical specifications detailing the input and output of programming modules- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting production issues- Experience with PostgreSQL database utilization for application development- Ability to understand priorities and manage the time accordingly- Ability to work with minimal oversight to complete assigned tasks Desired Skills - Experience with Agile development processes- Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, including: BitBucket, Jira- Experience with manufacturing and/or defense industry company- Experience with RESTful APIs with spring-bootPDS Tech, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
