Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences.This role reports to the ELIP Global Director of Supplier this role, you will support the implementation of supplier development strategies to significantly improve ABB''s supply base and ensure "best-in class" quality of product and services to Electrification Installation Products and its customers.Your responsibilitiesActively engage with ABB suppliers to drive and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including Defective Parts per Million, Non-Conformance Reports/Incidents, Cost of Poor Quality, etcDrive and lead proactive supplier quality activities such as APQP (Advanced product quality planning), SPQP (Supplier Product Qualification Process), and supplier auditsCollaborate with other supplier quality and procurement colleagues across the ELIP regions to periodically update the Supplier Quality Manual as necessaryLead weekly internal 8D supplier rapid response calls with nine Electrification Installation Products manufacturing facilities located across USA, Puerto Rico, and MexicoCollaborate with ABB manufacturing facility Quality Managers and Quality Engineers on proactive and reactive supplier quality activitiesSupport ABB manufacturing plants on major supplier issues. On site supplier problem solving support as needed. Ensure timely implementation of supplier permanent corrections and resolutionSupport the NPI (New Product Introductions) and strategic sourcing initiatives, Continuous Improvement Process - Sourcing Carriage and Insurance Paid (CIPS) in partnership with business stakeholders in order to assure that supplier quality is evaluated as a critical component within sourcing process (Gate Model, etc.)Your backgroundBachelor''s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or at least 10 years of experience in an automotive/heavy truck OEM supplier quality role.Working knowledge of Supplier Quality tools such as APQP Advanced product quality planning), PPAP (production part approval process), 8D corrective action problem solving, MSA, SPC, and supplier auditing.Sound knowledge of quality/manufacturing processes especially with product categories such as raw materials (steel, copper, aluminum), plastic resins, injection molded parts, sheet metal and stampings, fasteners and castings.Knowledge and experience with statistical software packages such as MiniTab.A collaborative, solution-focused approach, with strong written and spoken communication skills, as well as relationship-building skills.Actively ASQ certified as CSQP, CQE, or CQA would be preferred.
