Eaton''s Power Components division is currently seeking a 3rd shift Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This position is based at our Horseheads, NY facility. The Mechanic''s primary function is to assemble, install, maintain and repair electrical production/factory equipment. In this function you will: Read and interpret maintenance specifications, blueprints and engineering drawings. Fabricate parts and equipment using all maintenance tools including by setup and operation of machine tools using close tolerances (± 0.005). Inspect and maintain all maintenance tools and equipment. Analyze any/all types of equipment mechanical failures (hydraulic, pneumatic, alignments, drive systems, indexing and moving parts, turrets, pumps, conveyors, hydrogen atmosphere furnaces, etc.). Use computerized diagnostic equipment and expertise to troubleshoot and diagnose failures and make repairs/rebuild of equipment per appropriate specifications. Check equipment up on completion of work to ensure proper operation. Prep and paint all types of surfaces. Maintain company records as required. Perform tasks from other mechanical trades (welding, sheet metal, millwright, plumbing) on an as needed basis in order to keep productions and factory equipment operational. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Must have a two-year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or approved Apprenticeship program certificate in Maintenance/Mechanic specialty and (3) year''s industrial mechanic trade experience OR 10 years'' industrial maintenance trade experience. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. Relocation benefit offered for candidates in the US. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of three years prior experience troubleshooting CNC machines Knowledge of vacuum furnace technology Proven troubleshooting skills LI-RR2 Position Success Criteria: You will need to provide your own hand tools and lockable toolbox. The candidate has be able to work days, nights, and/or weekends for training and overtime purposes. Excellent understanding of industrial power, control and communication system failures.
