Short term/Long term Disability401KJob DetailsGeneral Description:Plan, direct, or coordinate, usually through Superintendent or Foreman, activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.Skills Required:Understanding of Blueprints and project specifications.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelGood verbal and written communication skills.Basic skills in scheduling software, such as Primavera P6, and Microsoft P6.Work Experience: Five or more years of experience in Construction Management or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Heavy Civil Construction.Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.Essential Duties:Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlinesConfer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professional to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problemsPrepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractorsPrepare and submit projections, progress reports, or cost tracking reportsInterpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developerPlan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, or systemsTake actions to deal with results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction siteInspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, or other regulationsStudy job specifications to determine appropriate construction methodsEnsure all necessary permits and licenses are obtainedDirect and supervise workers; ensure they comply with company policies and deadlinesDevelop or implement quality control programsInvestigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried outDetermine labor requirements for dispatching workers to construction sitesRequisition supplies or materials to complete construction projectsCommunicate monthly with Accounting Department in preparation of Work in Progress ReportingInterested in hearing more?
