Financial Analyst / Staff Accountant

Our client, a leading marketing/advertising company, is seeking a financial accounting to learn and grow within the team. This client is located in the heart of downtown Chicago and has seen an increase of business over the past few months. SUMMARY OF POSITION The Financial Analyst/Accountant reports to the Division Controller and will be responsible for providing financial analysis, planning and budgeting support to the Music and Sports division of the company SIZZLE Opportunity for growth and development Fun team culture-ability to work directly with leadership Passionate about fostering an environment that gives back to the community Competitive salary and benefits RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare financial models for planned events: including venue capacity, ticket scaling, operating costs and profitability outcomes Leverage historical data to develop database of relevant information and incorporate data into new planned events Analyze operational and financial trends and identify opportunities and develop alternatives to improve performance Develop, own, and manage financial models to support key initiatives and business decisions Updating and creating reports to analyze event performance against specific action plans and other targeted priorities Prepares and provides financial variance explanations of actual performance against approved budgets Operates in compliance with all insurance policy reporting requirements Work collaboratively to establish best practices for reporting, analysis and insights Prepare financial scenarios of planned artist tours for negotiations with artist management Maintain current on Accounts Receivable ledgers for events that have occurred to ensure timely cash collections Assist in month-end closing process with proposed closing entries, following up externally for pending information from our business partners. Prepare ad-hoc analysis and special projects as needed Participates and produces information as required by external and bank auditors DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor''s Degree in Accounting or Finance 2-4 years of accounting/analytical, problem-solving and data modeling experience Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Spanish required
