Equipment & Maintenance General Foreman Summary:Responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in all phases of a plant maintenance, including maintenance, repair and replacement of all plant machinery (compressed air systems, heat reclaimers, boilers, HVAC, water softeners, CNC machines, rigging, crane lifts, crawlers, etc). Must have working knowledge of the following trades - electrical, plumbing, carpentry, diesel engine repair and hydraulics. Supervises, assigns, and checks the work of the Equipment Maintenance Mechanics. Perform all other duties as assigned. Responsibilities:Organizes and performs heavy maintenance and repairs of various types of large equipment. Compiles operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results. Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, and outside contractors. Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques; operational procedures; and equipment use. Implement and maintain a real time preventive maintenance program with software tracking. Qualifications/Competencies/Experience: Typically has 15+ years relevant experience. Experience in pipeline, construction, module or industry preferred. Ensure the safe, efficient operation of all plant machinery and keep documented all work performed. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations that affect the plant operations and comply with Federal regulations and company safety policies and practices to promote safety awareness in the plant. Supervise workers in performing root cause analysis for any abnormal conditions/failures, taking required corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence of such conditions. Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. Supervises the daily activities of business support, technical or production staff in an assigned area. Resolves standard and non-standard problems. Has accountability for managing financial resources and manages budget for own area and allocates resources accordingly. Provides technical guidance to employees. Has formal supervisory responsibilities. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. Coordinates work activities with other supervisors. Uses operational and supervisory expertise to solve problems within own area. Has in-depth expertise in own discipline and knowledge of the related disciplines. Interprets customer needs and assesses requirements. Develops plans and coordinates resources to meet operational objectives. Sets day-to-day direction for employees to support business objectives and deadlines. Coordinates resources to meet short and long-term objectives. Explains difficult issues and obtains agreement as needed. Manages performance of employees through task assignments, ongoing skill assessment, coaching and goal setting. Develops processes and procedures to implement functional strategies. Applies technical and/or managerial expertise to improve effectiveness and provide guidance to employees in own area. Anticipates and interprets customer needs to identify solutions. Interprets business issues and adapts work priorities in own area. Leverages relationships with key internal/external customers to support business needs. Directs the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems that cross functional lines. Identifies business issues that may impact organizational results.
