Responsible for having and maintaining expertise in modern quality systems, manufacturing techniques (metal forming, machining, plating, rubber/plastic molding), planning and control systems in Electrification Installation Products.Reporting to Operations Manager, you will aid in the transformation of parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner, developing programs, projects, goals, and metrics to help the organization achieve the highest level of operational performance.Your responsibilitiesResponsible for managing Production in accordance with plant''s budget expectation relative to safety, quality, service and cost. Evaluate and recommend allocation of resources necessary to meet the manufacturing plan, e.g. equipment, people and overtime. Develop and model the strategic and future state vision for the manufacturing operation in Ormond Beach, FL. Maintain responsibility for meeting safety/environmental, productivity, quality and customer service goals of the production departments.Reviews and analyzes production, and quality data to identify opportunities for improvement and drive implementation of actions to improve.Ensures a workplace environment exists which supports the effective implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous process improvement, encourage employee involvement and recognition.Makes sure employees are treated with dignity and respect.Must be firm, fair and consistent to gain and maintain employee confidence and trust.Takes proactive ownership and responsibility for product quality at point of manufacture and process improvement. Interprets and reacts to data trends in quality metrics.Follows up on quality product/process improvement suggestions.Directly responsible for the Development and performance expectations with the Production Supervisors and their direct reports.Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating waste(s) and improve quality.Your backgroundBachelor''s degree and minimum 7-10 years of production management experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment.Excellent Leadership and management skills.Strong management and people development skills.Proven track record of success, continuous improvement and change implementation.Good verbal and written communication skills.Must be a positive, courteous, professional and team oriented individual.Demonstrated understanding of financial reports.Formulation and control of operating budgets.Problem solving techniques.Knowledge of the following; EPA Regulations, Lean manufacturing, 5''s, and standardized work applications, and some combination of work experience in metal forming, machining, plating, rubber and/or plastic molding.Flexible to work across 3 shifts as needed.A proven ability to implement innovative and sustainable cultural change Ability to coach and influence all levels of the organization as well as contract partnersAbility to prioritize work, effectively handle multiple tasks, and possess sound reasoning and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills (verbal/written.)Strong computer and presentation skills.Lean manufacturing experience.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.BenefitsRetirement planLife insuranceDisability insuranceMedical insuranceWellbeing programMore about usABB Installation Products Division (formerly Thomas&Betts),is the number one manufacturer of electrification products in North America with a 125-year history of providing innovation and customer- focused solutions for connecting and protecting electrical systems, as well as a unique differentiated medium voltage offering.
