6am-2pm M-F Position Summary: Analyzes raw material, in-process intermediate, and finished products to meet quality specifications. Position Responsibilities:-Performs a variety of laboratory tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.-Sets up experiments and tests following detailed instruction and procedures.-Maintains detailed documentation and data as a result of tests.-Assists in updating operating procedures and batch sheets for various plant trials.-Assists in the development of various analytical methods for the lab.-Operates and maintains lab equipment and supplies. Assists in instrument troubleshooting.-Performs other duties as needed.Essential Skills & Experience:-Able to speak and write in a manner that can easily be understood.-Good numerical reasoning and process problem solving skills.-Computer literacy.-Proven interpersonal and organizational skills.-Resource management abilities.-Planning and change management skills.-Knowledge of TQM principles and techniques.-Fundamental understanding of chemical instrumentation. Educational & Work Experience Requirement: Associate''s degree in chemistry and 2 years experience in a QC Lab environment. Physical demands and work environment: Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to laboratory conditions prevalent at the time. May require minimal outside work and weather conditions.
