LTAC Registered Nurse

**RADY DOES NOT ACCEPT EMSA- RN MUST HAVE CA LICENSE IN HAND OR PENDING WITH ETAs of when it will post** Required: • Current CA RN license • BLS/PALS required • 1 year Sub-Acute or LTC Experience • Accepts 1st time travelers • computerized charting Preferred: • Experience working with ventilator-dependent and/or trach-dependent children and children with developmental disabilities • 1 yrs. pediatric experience in a major facility Ratio: 6 patients: 1 nurse Floating Requirements: May need to float to the skilled side of the Helen Bernardy Center if low census on subacute side. Floating Locations: May be needed to float to the skilled side of the same unit. The skilled side has children with less technological care needs. They are usually g-tube fed, may have spastic quadriplegia, seizure disorders and intellectual disability. The skilled side nursing care includes medication pass and g-tube feedings for the majority of the care needs required. Job Summary: (RN) Bernardy Center Charge Nurse is responsible for independently applying the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation & documentation of pediatric patient care. Selects & administers the appropriate care, taking into consideration the age, developmental level & size of the patient. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health, healing & quality of life. Able to identify own limitations & seeks resources, as needed. Acts as role model & resource person providing clinical leadership to other staff members & ensures quality clinical practices, skills, & developmentally appropriate activities for the residents.
