If YOU want to want make a positive impact in your community and be part of the team that''s taking our industry to new levels of excellence, then we want YOU!** **JOB SUMMARY** _This position supports the drug and alcohol testing program, performed in accordance with the requirements of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations (10 CFR 26) and FFD procedures. This position performs functions related to the drug and alcohol screening process, including (but not limited to) collecting specimens for pre-access, random, follow-up, for-cause and post-event screens, assisting with and/or conducting random and follow-up pool notifications, and appropriately documenting related information._ _This position works with management in determining the need for Fitness for Duty Evaluations and provides direct clinical and administrative support to the Company''s Medical Consultants (MRO) and to the Company''s Medical Director to facilitate decisions related to work restrictions and fitness for duty._ This position also provides support to SNC operating units by providing medical case management consultative services to line management for both occupational and personal injuries and illnesses, FMLA and ADA issues. This position works with line management, human resources and corporate staff to manage the return to work process, evaluate and facilitate restricted duty assignments and facilitate decisions that ensure compliance with applicable regulations (i.e. case management). This position is responsible for the performance of Licensed Operator Examinations and Nuclear Security Officer Examination and the maintenance of these records. This position also coordinates the performance of physical examinations necessary to comply with OSHA regulations and maintains records necessary to support these programs., which includes supervision of various contract medical personnel associated with the program at the plant site and also coordinates the performance of all mandated physical examinations necessary to comply with NRC regulations and maintains records necessary to support these programs. This position has frequent contact with the NRC regarding compliance-related activities associated with qualification and certification examinations and Fitness for Duty. This position provides support as needed to the Southern Company Wellness Program and assist in the Workers Compensation Program by providing evaluation/first-aid treatment for occupational injuries/illnesses and coordinating off-site care, as needed. •*_*This position provides the above functions at any SNC site in Georgia and Alabama and will support them during, but not limited to, outage in-processing and heavy new-hire on-boarding times._** •*Education and Experience (Knowlesge, Skills, & Abilities)** + Bachelors of Science in Nursing required + Current license in Georgia or Alabama - As a professional registered nurse + Minimum of 3 years experience in nursing (medical-surgical, cardiac, emergency, etc.) required + 2 - 5 years of Fitness For Duty (FFD) related and/or Medical Experience preferred + Previous experience in a supervisory/lead position preferred + Previous experience in medical case management and/or workers compensation program management preferred + COHN-S and or CM certification highly desired + Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) + Excellent verbal and wrtiten communication skills + Attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously + Motivated and innovative self-starter •*Duties and Responsibilities** + _Assists the SNC Medical Services Supervisor in providing oversight of the FFD program._ + _Creates weekly random list as needed then conducts rand and follow-up testing notifications._ + _Enters drug and alcohol results, random notification worksheets , and pending status into Empact (or similar) database_ + _Ensures regulatory compliance with respect to the random list, safe periods, and drug and alcohol testing._ + _Interacts with HHS Laboratory for test results._ + _Schedules determinations of fitness with the Medical Review Officer._ + _Reviews positive test results with the Medical Review Officer and the donors._ + _Assists the SNC Medical Services Supervisor in meeting requirements of the Blind Performance Test Program._ + _Maintains strict adherence to FFD procedures and NRC regulations._ + _Utilizes corrective action program to document non-compliances and deficiencies_ + _Provides evaluation/first-aid treatment for occupational injuries/illnesses and coordinates off-site care, as needed_ + _Performs case management functions for the SNC operating units_ + _Performs mandated physical examinations for employees of the SNC operating units_ + _Performs other duties as may be assigned by Medical & FFD Services management_ •*Behavior Attributes** + Demonstrated values (trustworthy, reliable, honest, integrity, responsible, accountable, and confidentiality) •*Other Responsibilities** + Ability to travel to plant site locations in Georgia and Alabama: Travel 25-50% + Other duties as assigned •*Southern Company (NYSE: SO) is America''s premier energy company, with 44,000 megawatts of generating capacity and 1,500 billion cubic feet of combined natural gas consumption and throughput volume serving 9 million electric and gas utility customers through its subsidiaries.
