It''s a small town that lies in a valley on the Highland Rim.So if you want to live in a rural community with low crime and enjoy the outdoor areas that have mountains and lakes right in your back yard please continue to review this.SUMMARY:Looking for a Director to lead the Med/Surg, ICU and ER areas for a top-notch hospital with a local, family atmosphere.This is an excellent opportunity to impact the quality of care for our patients through building great relationships with physicians and staff.Person will be directing the department''s activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives for patients in the Med/Surg, ICU and ER.Plans and directs all nursing personnel. Develops and implements nursing policies, objectives, and initiatives.Reviews nursing department operations to ensure compliance with established standards.Ensures that all patients receive the highest quality care.Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist.EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:Bachelors degree in Nursing required and a Master''s degree is preferred.RN license in the State of Tennessee or another compact state required.Basic Life Support (BLS) Required to be current upon hire.Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required - to be obtained within 6 months of hirePediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required - to be obtained within 6 months of hirePrevious experience in Med/Surg as a nurse leader and multi department experience required.Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.ADDITIONAL INFO:Facility is 114 beds, Joint Commission accredited that is a 24hr facility that offers many services.This position reports to the CNO that is well respected. She would like someone that has strong MedSurg and Management experience and is a team builder and can nurture but holds people accountable. The person will oversee @80 FTE''s. The ER does have a Manager so this area is more of a support role.MedSurg is 17 beds(winter is full, summer average census 10), ICU is 6 beds(census averages 3) and its more of a step down unit and basic services.This is a small town and people genuinely care about each other and work as a family and do a lot of fun activities together and they make it a fun place to work.The position is offering between 85K-95K. Position does have a yearly bonus opportunity and the they will offer a sign-on to help with relocation.
