Wood is currently searching for an Offshore Study Manager to support our Consutling business in Houston, TX. The Offshore Study Manager will support the business in winning and executing a variety of early phase studies in all sectors of the offshore Industry with strong focus on Offshore Facilities and Energy Transition. Wood''s Energy Consulting team focuses on advising clients, investors, and asset owners on making the right investment decisions for their projects or assets. This team has the skills, experience, and creativity to add value from the earliest screening or conceptual phases through to the establishment of a robust basis of design in the pre-FEED stage, for a range of projects including Decarbonization initiatives such as Carbon Capture, Hydrogen production and Renewables. The Consulting team makes use of the global Wood resources network to provide technical expertise needed for almost any challenge.ResponsibilitiesLead team efforts in the Upstream business with focus on Offshore DecarbonizationCommercial and technical management of studies and consulting engagementsSupport Company''s business development efforts in pursuit of new consulting opportunitiesDevelopment of proposals and winning workWork closely with clients to understand their needs, drivers and objectives, and develop and execute projects to meet these needsPrepare technical proposals covering scopes of work, study schedules, and deliverables lists among others.Prepare project execution plans and technical reportsWork multiple studies at the same time without missing milestonesSetting clear technical direction to the study teamLead, manage and coordinate the execution of studies through collaboration with multidiscipline study teamsUnderstand and propose wider business goals and guide the input and decision making for the Consulting groupCreate a solid professional network within Wood and our partners Skills / Qualifications Engineering Degree, Mechanical or Chemical preferredMinimum of 10 years'' experience with offshore and upstream oil and gas projects in a study management, project management or project engineering roleStrong leadership skillsStrong overall understanding of facilities design, both in process and mechanical systems including utilitiesStrong understanding of offshore facility types and configurations, both fixed and floatingStrong understanding of offshore construction and operationsStrong overall general engineering skills and broad multidiscipline experienceDemonstrated history of front-end engineering studies including cost estimating, scheduling, and project contracting strategies.Demonstrated history of leading offshore topsides configuration and layout studies, debottlenecking studies and due diligence engagementsBasic technical and commercial understanding of emerging energy transition trends, carbon capture, green and blue hydrogen, renewables, and general decarbonization of oil and gas facilitiesExcellent oral and written communication and client facing skillsStrong interpersonal skills to lead and collaborate with multidiscipline/multicultural study teamsExperience in preparation of robust technical reportsGood understanding of project controls and project financial reportingStrong computer skills, MS Office as well as graphics tools (i.e., MS Visio, Bluebeam) used in early phase studiesMust be an US citizen or authorized to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood Company Overview Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world''s most critical challenges.
