The Process Engineer is responsible for preliminary scope development on CAPEX projects, partnering with cross-functional teams in the implementation of productivity improvements to reduce spend and/or increase production capacity and supporting new product start-ups. The Process Engineer is an active participant in creating, cultivating, and embedding a culture of Continuous Improvement. It is core to the function to enable others through technical training & coaching on process design basics. Process Engineer is also responsible for participating in developmental activities designed to stimulate individual and organizational growth. Process Engineer Functional Role Ensures EHS compliance and continuous improvement in EHS performanceProvide technical support to Production and all its personnel to trouble shoot equipment, improve processes, process control (DCS) and related issuesWork collaboratively with Quality on chemistry related issues & method formulation improvementsDevelop project scopes and basic process engineering packages for new installations and retrofit of facilitiesConduct MOC''s (Management of Change) that are production related to process equipment and instrumentationVigorously Track and report monthly metrics Key Performance Indicators (KPI''s) as well as prepare technical progress reports on active projects and initiativesSatisfy all Corporate Quality Requirements and ISO9001 Quality Management SystemPractice Responsible Care 14001 through active participation in the Responsible Care Management System and adhere to the Guiding Principles of Responsible Care 14001Process Engineer Core Responsibilities Develop scope and process packages for small CAPEXActive participant in PHA''s (Process Hazard analysis) for new product initiativesExecute small CAPEX projectsIdeate, design & implement productivity projectsProvide start-up support and operator training for new equipment installations/retrofits that impact manufacturing operationsProvide routine training and coaching on basic design practices & standardsCollaborate with Production, R&D and Global Process Engineering to develop process, mass and energy balance, safe operating process limits and plant equipment requirementsAssist in the plant formulation, process safety reviews, SOP(s) creation, process implementation, start-up support and operator trainingPharma support for re-validation efforts, gap closure and initiatives in validated sections of the facilityExperience: Degree in Chemical Engineering.Engineering experience in a chemical plantExperience in batch, semi-batch, and continuous processing & controlsChemical engineering knowledge including, but not limited to, an understanding of fluid transport, heat transfer, filtration, reaction kinetics, general process equipment
