Description Information Technology Interns at Caterpillar perform the same challenging work assignments as our new full-time hires. We work with our teams to ensure that every intern gains the appropriate professional and personal growth necessary to be successful in a corporate environment. This position is a great way to gain hands on experience by supporting the IT operations at a world-leading manufacturing company. Working with a Fortune 100 leader, you gain experience on a global scale and take advantage of development opportunities focusing on the data design of reusable data objects & analytics in support of business imperatives. Summer 2022 interns will work 40 hours a week from May 16, 2022 to August 5, 2022. Job Duties: Competent to perform all necessary data & analytics related tasks, such as, data design, data quality metadata management & visualizations Work directly on complex problems and provide solutions aligned with overall objectives of Cat BCP. Support staff and teams on data analysis and data visualization projects Lead communication across various lines of businesses and technology partners to constantly monitor, collect, review, and roadmap business data requirements. Develop data & analytics reports and dashboards and drive automation, where possible Basic Qualifications Currently attending a 4-year accredited university/college in an IT related degree program or sequence Minimum cumulative GPA requirement 2.8 (no rounding) Graduation date must be December 2022 and beyond Must be able to relocate to Cary, NC area or indicated work location for duration of internship, and complete daily work commute using reliable transportation. Top Candidates will also have: Leadership experience Previous technical internship, co-op, or research/relevant experience Knowledge of languages/ skills: SQL, Power BI, SQL Server, SSIS, Tableau, Google Analytics, R, SharePoint, etc. Relevant coursework and/or projects Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to demonstrate strong written & oral communication skills, initiative and intellectual curiosity Able to work independently or as a collaborative team member Ability to learn and comply with company policies and procedures Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where digital is still evolving as a core offering Passion for technology and an eagerness to contribute to a team-orientated environment Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, regardless of the technical capacity of the audience Besides exciting work, Corporate Interns will experience : Tours of manufacturing and research facilities Paid holidays Product demonstrations Various social events Networking with leadership Intern roundtable discussions Career discussion with leaders and experts Resume and mock interviews ... and more!
