The Product Manager plays an important role in the organization by leading several activities related to the company''s Product Team operations and Project Management Office (PMO) functions. The role is primarily responsible, under intermittent direction, for managing all aspects of the relationship with the Product Owner and other business Senior Leadership. This includes portfolio planning, overseeing execution and closing multiple initiatives in accordance with the Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) process and within established deadlines and budget. This role will also be responsible for portfolio planning, cost/benefit analyses, detailing resource needs and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver initiatives according to plan. The Product Manager will be expected to oversee project quality control throughout its lifecycle. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Strategy & Planning Serves as primary liaison into the Information Technology team and Product team resources for their respective Product Owner and Senior Leaders. Collaborates with Product Owner in prioritizing technology-related opportunities based on expected returns, resource requirements, and constraints. Ensures that resources are managed according to the desired balance of change management/production support issues and strategic initiatives. Ensures necessary technology resources to deliver an initiative are aligned for just-in-time execution across resources and life cycle stages. Provides project portfolio reporting for the Executive Project Management Officer (EPMO), Product Owner, Management and stakeholders, including backlogs, execution times, status, conflicts, team performance metrics, accomplishments, and issues. Tracks post-implementation benefits against business case expectations/justification. Ensures IT resources execute per plans in terms of estimated effort and timelines; escalates any risks to timeline and/or budget as soon as they are material and apparent both at project and portfolio level. Partners the Product Owner in creating a value scorecard to illustrate the business value generated by the technology resources on the Product Team. Partners the Product Owner in justifying and obtaining additional technology resources as needed based on work backlog/locked-up value, backlog aging (for change management and/or larger initiatives), missing team skill sets or other metrics such as staffing ratios (BA to Dev, QA to Dev, etc.). Prepare/Author key project documentation including project plans, project charters, status reports, communication plans, and other documentation in alignment with the PMLC process. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques. Lead Product Team and project meetings. Meet or exceed budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis. Define project success criteria in a clear and concise manner and disseminate to involved parties throughout project life cycle. Work with the Manager, Project Management, to develop best practices and tools for project execution and management. Operational Management Direct and manage project development from inception to completion and according to the PMLC process for projects with a high level of complexity, scope, visibility, and budget. In conjunction with project managers and scrum masters, develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents according to the PMLC; create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the Product team. Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project portfolio, scope, schedule, and costs. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. Improve the PMLC, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and Agile templates, tools, and processes to increase EPMO efficiencies. Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the Product Team. Report and escalate to management as needed. Perform other duties, as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, business, logistics or related field, along with a minimum of seven years of Project Management, Business Analysis or Product Management experience with implementation in complex environments required. Previous mortgage banking experience highly preferred. Previous Information Technology experience preferred Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise level application development projects preferred. Project Management Certifications preferred. (e.g., PMP {Project Management Professional} or CAPM {Certified Associate in Project Management}) Agile certifications preferred. (e.g., CSM {Certified Scrum Master} or PMI-ACP {Agile Certified Practitioner}) Advanced time management and analytical skills. Independent, self-starter with the demonstrated ability to learn/adapt to new business opportunities. Ability to effectively prioritize, lead, and execute initiatives in a high-pressure environment. Excellent written, verbal, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills required. Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service within a team environment and work well with geographically dispersed teams. Persuasive, encouraging and motivating.
