Mechanic - Frierson, LA Position Summary: The mechanic is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and diagnoses of heavy duty truck fleet and equipment. Mechanics work with appropriate operational systems, monitors routine maintenance on all fleet and equipment including compliance of DOT and company work hour policies and regulations. Qualifications: Must be 18-years of age or older High School Diploma or GED Must have valid driver''s license, CDL preferred but not required Valid diesel mechanic certification from vocational or trade school preferred but not required 2 years verified mechanic experience preferred but not required Experience in companies within the oil and gas industry or trucking industry a plus General knowledge of hydraulic systems and various pumps Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, and fitness for duty test (FIT Test) Must pass pre-employment background check Willing to work all shifts as needed Knowledgeable of DOT compliance guidelines and regulations Compensation and Benefits: Competitive hourly pay rates Holiday Pay Bi-weekly Pay Paid Time Off (PTO) Direct Deposit Paid Training Program 401k Industry leading benefit package including: major medical, dental, and vision HSA option with employer contribution Telehealth Virtual Visits Company Paid: Life, Accidental and Disability Insurance Company Provided Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Employee Discount Programs Operational Job Functions and Responsibilities: Read and interpret information such as, safety rules, operating instructions and manuals as required by Company, DOT, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and State Agencies Wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE) related to task being performed as well using all required safety equipment and procedures Service, monitor maintenance schedule, and provide preventive maintenance on heavy duty truck fleet Make mechanical repairs on truck fleet, including lubrication, electrical air, hydraulic, pneumatic, oil level, brakes, springs, clutches, vacuum pumps, radiators, turbo, wheel seals, suspensions, and drive line Perform visual inspection of equipment Troubleshoot, diagnose, remove and replace parts as needed Change and repair tires Understand warranty coverages Maintain cleanliness of shop and tools Maintain equipment to ensure proper operation in compliance with regulatory, environmental and DOT regulations Inspect pumping equipment to detect malfunctioning leaks, lubricate machinery, and perform repairs, as well as adjust pump equipment using hand tools Replace non-warranty components Communicate with supervisor on a daily basis regarding work orders, preventative maintenance, purchases, inventory, and 3rd party repairs Conduct job tasks in a safe, healthy, and environmentally cautious manner to ensure efficient use of time and scheduling of vehicle maintenance. Maintain contact with Yard Manger or supervisor to receive instructions Maintain proper cleanliness of work environment and security of assigned equipment Perform general and complex repairs of all equipment Assist other employees when needed Preventative maintenance reports on a weekly basis as required Promptly report all work incidents to Company personnel including: Supervisor, Yard Manager and HSE Representative Other duties as assigned Health, Safety and Environmental, Department of Transportation (DOT) Rules & Regulations: Comply with all DOT, HSE, and Company regulations and safety meet qualifications Properly wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Complete required paperwork Attend and participate in all company safety meetings and assigned trainings such as daily tailgate meetings, weekly Target Zero Training, and scheduled safety meetings Accurately complete Behavior Based Safety (BBS), and Company JSAs as required Properly use power and electrical equipment Properly use skid steer or company service pickup truck Obtain hot work permits as needed Skills: Good decision making skills, strong problem solving abilities Excellent communication and facilitation skills, professional demeanor Ability to quickly assess a situation and generate new insights and usable ideas High-energy individual who is motivated to excel Uncompromising integrity and honesty Ability to use computer to input data and operate vendor software Flexibility to changing situations in the working environment Ability to read instruments gauges, devices, etc., perform math calculations and complete proper paperwork Can read and interpret documents (instructions, handbooks, operating, maintenance and procedural manuals) Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form by supervisors Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with others, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries and to make entries on reports and records Good organizational skills Ability to use and repair electronic logging devices Nuverra is an equal employment opportunity (EEO) employer.
