A successful candidate for this position will be assigned to the DACM contract with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Facilities Construction Program. Salary Range: $200,000 to $230,000 per annum DACM employee benefits include: 25 days a year time off with pay, 401K program, medical and dental insurance, professional development program, bonuses, and other benefits. Position Overview: This position will be responsible for managing multiple construction projects within the LAUSD bond funded programs, inclusive of renovation, addition, and new facilities for LAUSD school locations. The position will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing construction activities for the School Upgrade Program and critical repair projects. The position functions as the project management professional in the Construction Department providing quality review, and implementation of policy and procedures. The position interfaces with the Division of the State Architect (DSA). Specific functions include: Duties: Manage and provide construction oversight to Owners Authorized Representatives (Owners Project Managers). Resolve complex construction project related issues, disputes, and disagreements. Develop, assign, and monitor performance of OARs relative to assigned construction projects. Review status and overall construction project progress relative to submitted construction Schedules. Review change orders from all construction projects and assess their impact on the District. Assist, Regional Directors, and other Facilities management staff with bid and contract planning. Assess bid specifications for District need and probability of completion under stated timeline. Review status and monitor variances of the construction project database relative to scheduling and cost control reporting. Review and verify submitted applications for payment and perform overall fiscal management of multiple construction projects. Provide functional direction over areas of responsibility including construction project schedules, cost control, dispute resolution, contract administration, and quality control. Review and monitor overall administration of contracts for the architect and related consultants. Coordinate program activities with other District organizational branches and departments such as the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, Design and A/E Technical Support, Asset Management Branch, Facilities Contract Administration, Inspection Unit, Maintenance and Operations, and local districts. Review and take recommended actions in resolving disputes relative to construction projects. Develop and recommends internal policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned.
