Experience with introducing and certifying new infrastructure technologies, designing or implementing complex components and services, building testing and integrating infrastructure components or services, applying security and controls policies for infrastructure components. Position Summary:The Sr. Network Engineer designs, develops, implements, maintains, and enhances or innovates Network Infrastructure, systems, equipment and connectivity. Analyzes existing networks, systems and equipment and identifies opportunities for improvement and efficiencies. Being a Sr. Network Engineer develops solutions that meet business needs for LAN/WAN, Security, Load Balancing, Campus and Data Center routing and switching infrastructure requirements that allows for performance and reliability necessary to support critical applications, and to allow users to be more efficient and create an overall better experience for customers that leverage our environments. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring senior level technical expertise to support and resolve. May provide a leadership/mentor role for the group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.Job Responsibilities: Minimum of 10 years of related implementation experience in network environments including network engineering (hardware and software), network security best practices and planning and implementing LAN''s and WAN''s, wireless, firewalls, and load balancing technology. Minimum of 6 years of related applied experience in network environments architecting and designing route/switch, LAN''s and WAN''s, wireless, firewalls and load balancing technology. Advanced experience with routing protocols to include BGP, EGP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF RIP. Advanced experience with WAN connectivity to include MPLS, Point to Point, DWDM, DIA, L2, Cellular. Advanced experience with Firewall security to include port/protocol and application-based policy, IPS/IDS, preferred experience with NGFW platform Palo Alto. Platform experience with ACI, DNAC, Nexus 7k, 5k, 2k, Catalyst 9k, 6500, 6800, 3900, 2900, ISR 4500, 4400, 4300, 3900, 3800 Advanced experience with administration and implementation of DNS, DHCP, IPAM in support of enterprise environments. Intermediate experience with scripting languages to include Python, PERL, DASH, TCL and Go Advanced experience with maintenance activities to include patching, hot fixes for route/switch, firewall, load balancing technologies where planning and methods of procedure are essential in the successful execution of activity. Advanced experience with life cycle management activities to include configuration discovery, planning, methods of procedures of route/switch, wireless, firewall and load balancing technology. Advanced experience with packet analysis using various tools to support troubleshooting efforts or improve network traffic efficiencies. Demonstrates the ability on a regular basis the ability to review and interpret systems logs from multiple platforms; ability to coordinate problem resolution efforts with multiple resources (vendor and IT). Demonstrates ability on a consistent basis to perform capacity management of all interfaces, trunks, ports, circuits, and systems thresholds to ensure systems resources remain optimally available for use. Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing with sensitivity to the audience and content; Collaboration skills and attention to detail.
