Bindery Assistant (2nd Shift 3pm - 11pm) Chelsea, MI BinderySTATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The major purpose of the Bindery Assistant is to safely and efficiently handle all material in bindery as it relates to the Bindery Assistant job.Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions):These are functions that a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.Read job ticket and follow instructionsWork closely with bindery teamFeed books into machinePack books into boxesSafely move materials/books to and from work stationPerform hand operations as requiredAssist in quality checksReport machine malfunctionIdentify and report potential safety problemsKeep work area neat and cleanCross train in other areas as neededAdditional duties as assignedJOB REQUIREMENTS:Essential:A minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.Basic verbal and written communication skills.Must possess ability to work at a rapid pace.Ability to perform work safely.Reliable; Dependable transportation.Required to work mandatory overtime as needed. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Ability to keep up with a high-speed delivery output in a standing position for a full shift.Ability to step up, reach overhead, and manually feed blanks into machine.Ability to stand for long periods of time.Requires regularly standing, walking, carrying, climbing, and reaching.Ability to lift mail sacks, cartons and skids up to a maximum of 70 lbs. continuously.Manual dexterity required to grasp, move, stack, and manipulate parts of or finished magazines, exposure to arm and wrist fatigue.Ability to stand for long periods of time.Exposure to noise; must wear hearing protection and safety shoes.CJK Group is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
