Places parts or directs the placement of parts on the belt.2. Transfers the work to the furnace area using material handling equipment (overhead cranes, forklifts).3. Adjusts and monitors the furnace temperature, quench oil temperature, carbon potential, and belt speeds by setting control instruments, computer programs, or other means used to control the process variables.4. Pre-washes loads as needed 5. The operator is responsible for getting the hardness of the parts tested to ensure they meet specifications.6. Reports any maintenance items needed on the furnace and support equipment.7. Keeps the area around the mesh belt clean and orderly.8. Keeps the schedule board current.9. Maintains inventory of supplies needed.10. Packs parts coming off the belts as requiredRequirements1. Previous experience in a shop setting2. General knowledge of basic tools3. Strong knowledge of measurements4. Can troubleshoot wellPhysical Requirements1. Able to lift up to 50 lbs2. Able to run a computer3. Physically able to maneuver all parts4. Able to tolerate heat daily
