Job Description

This job works in collaboration with the Pharmacy Supervisors to coordinate pharmacy technician workflow and medication distribution. This job analyzes systems within the scope of responsibility and recommends modifications and improvements. This job also performs quality assurance monitoring and reporting for areas of responsibility. This job description is a summary of the primary duties and responsibilities of the job and position. Education Required - High School diploma or equivalentCompletion of a pharmacy technician training programWork ExperienceRequired - 3 years experience as a pharmacy technicianPreferred -Prior supervisory in a hospital pharmacy setting CertificationsRequired - Current Pharmacy Technician Certificate issued by the Louisiana Board of PharmacyKnowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.Good interpersonal skillsJob DutiesPerforms the duties of a pharmacy technician. Oversees pharmacy automation.Coordinates pharmacy technician distributive activities. Supervises, trains, and develops department staff.Manages department quality improvement activities.Other related duties as required.
