Eaton''s Industrial Controls Division is currently seeking a Lead Test Automation Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Menomonee Falls, WI location. Relocation is available. Position Overview: Eaton Corporation has an opening for an Lead SSI Test Automation Engineer inside its Industrial Control Division, located in Menomonee Falls, WI. This position will reside in the divisional headquarters building, which houses engineering for multiple product lines as well as marketing, sales, finance, and research. The facility was built in 2012 and boasts an open office layout surrounded by large windows, as well as 50,000+ square feet of onsite state-of-the-art laboratory space, a basketball court, ping-pong, employee lounge, fitness center and grill & patio. The qualified candidate for the Lead Test Engineering role will support the test design, test development, test framework and test execution of embedded firmware and software for ICD''s next generation of industry leading products and IoT applicaitons. Primary products are related to advanced motor protection, communications, reduced voltage starting and variable frequency drives for industrial applications; leveraging embedded micro-controllers and digital signal processors in a real time operating system environment. The candidate will work within a firmware center of excellence together with other team members driving new product and process development while leveraging modern toolchains. In this function you will: Lead test development and test execution for new product introductions and support development team through project lifecycle. Support the architecture, development and maintenance of automated test frameworks, test systems and toolsets including model-based testing such as HiL, SiL Support process improvement initiatives globally and functional excellenceSupport KPI and test documentation reporting, practices and toolsets Support strategy for improving product test management, processes and execution for new product development and existing product portfolio Guide root cause analysis for quality escapes and support root cause preventative actions. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor''s degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution with 5 years of experience (or advanced degree with 4 years test engineering experience) Experience working with Python and C/C++ Preferred qualifications: Master''s degree from an accredited institution 2+ years in Test Leadership experience Experience developing custom automation tools for embedded systems. Knowledge and experience related to industrial applications such as motor protection, motor control, PLC, industrial communications protocols, and power systems. Experience with ethernet based communication protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet IP and Modbus TCP and other industrial standards Working knowledge of test tools and equipment to streamline and ensure test coverage and traceability Working knowledge of the evaluation methods in the design, development, and debugging of electronic devices Working knowledge of IEC, UL, and CSA standards for industrial devices preferred Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Tools (preferably Atlassian Tool Set) Position Criteria: Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others. Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills. Ability to develop test cases from functional product requirements as well as detailed design requirements. Knowledge/training related to the fundamentals of micro-processors/controllers. Experience and knowledge of embedded real time multi-tasking operating systems. Knowledge of advanced engineering practices, processes and related tools. This includes (but is not limited to) requirements management and traceability, bug tracking, version control, test driven development, simulation, and continuous integration. Experience developing custom automation solutions Knowledge and experience related to industrial applications such as motor protection, motor control, industrial communications protocols, and power systems is preferred. Experience developing frameworks using Python and other scripting languages Experience interfacing with PLCs and other smart industrial devices Experience with ethernet based communicaiton protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet IP and Modbus TCP and other industrial standards Working knowledge of the evaluation methods in the design, development, and debugging of electronic devices Working knowledge of IEC, UL, and CSA standards for industrial devices preferred Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Tools (preferably Atlassian Tool Set) Working knowledge of test tools and equipment to streamline and ensure test coverage and traceability As a contractor with the Federal government, Eaton is subject to the Executive Order mandating COVID-19 vaccination.
