In Abbott''s Electrophysiology division, we''re advancing the treatment of heart and vascular disease through breakthrough medical technologies in electrophysiology and heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.Our location in Austin, TX currently has an opportunity for a Sr. Pricing and Contracting Analyst. The role is pivotal in developing and implementing pricing strategy and tactical plans aligned to inline and future launch products. This role plays a pivotal role to support decision-making regarding the overall health of the business. This role collaborates with Area Vice Presidents, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Enterprise Accounts in the collection and analysis of market/ Abbott and customer product prices and trends in order to make the sound business decisions that optimize Abbott Product pricing and margin. This role will work in a matrix approach within the organization and requires excellent excel/analytic skills and communication and presentation skills. This position reports to the Director of Electrophysiology Pricing & Contracting Strategy.Each employee can make a difference at Abbott and has the power, either individually or as a team, to influence the success of the company. We value people with great ideas who partner with others both internally and externally to take action and accomplish goals.WHAT YOU''LL DOLead discussions to consult with sales leaders to generate insights on customer price sensitivities, market price intelligence, and profitability impacts, with the objective of Profit optimization.Perform advanced customer level analysis to evaluate critical areas for improvement, including price setting, price promotion response, revenue optimization, and strategic alignment various customer segments.Partner with Pricing Manager to analyze existing price strategies and improve pricing models of potential changes to quantify sales and profitability impact to customer segments, brands and marketsPerform data mining, cleansing, and manipulation; identify necessary data elements and their sources, use appropriate tools to acquire and consolidate large volumes of data from different sources, and identify and resolve any irrelevant, corrupt, missing, or incongruent dataDerive insights that leads into actionable pricing recommendations.Assist with the development, creation and monitoring of price performance scorecards and forecastsResponsible for report development such as quarterly performance of critical metrics, profit optimization, and ad-hoc analyses while also supporting risk assessment and recommendationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU''LL BRINGEducation - Bachelor''s Degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred. Background in Finance, Contracting, Math or other quantitative discipline is helpfulKnowledge and CompetenciesA minimum of 4-6 years of hands-on experience in problem solving using quantitative research, pricing analysis, and data. Medical device industry, preferably in ElectrophysiologyProven ability to translate large amounts of data into actionable insights and coherent strategies.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with multiple business partners.Ability to find out-of-the-box/non-traditional ways of problem solving and apply innovative thinking when approaching and defining solutions. Enjoys the challenge posed by 'problems'' and enjoys solving them.Desire to work in a fast paced, growing, deadline driven, startup-up environment. Ability to inform rapid, but fact-based decision-making with imperfect data. Self-motivated, driven to achieve teams commitments.Ability to deal with ambiguity/insufficiency: Embraces change and encourages others throughout this process.
