The Senior Electronic Design Engineer utilizes full understanding of area of specialization to drive and deliver work output related to the design, development, modification, of electronic circuitry- circuit boards, modules, sensory equipment and other electrical engineering applications. General Job Requirements - Applies expertise in developing complex board level electronics design while optimizing for device safety, reliability, manufacturability and testability. - Works as a core team member to design, develop or modify electronics for multiple projects by analyzing appropriate requirement documents. - Authors clear and concise technical documentation including but not limited to: design inputs/ requirements, design plans, component specifications, design outputs and verification/test deliverables (plans/ protocols/reports). -Conducts design reviews and other related technical reviews. - Leads pre-development projects and provide effort estimate and feasibility reports. - Reports project progress, issues and risks to Line Manager. - Requires little direct instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments. - Assists with various projects and other duties as assigned by Line Manager - Review and complies with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations. Education/Experience: Bachelor''s Degree required in Electrical Engineering; Advanced Degree desirable. Must Have" Technical Experience and Skills:• Bachelor''s degree with a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience; or Master''s degree with minimum of 3 years of experience.• Experience in every aspect of hardware development, from design concept, through schematic design entry, circuit simulation, PCB layout management, board bring-up, troubleshooting and release to manufacturing. (simulations, schematics, BOM, component specs, programmable logic design files, board design files, design specifications)• Mastery and practical experience in a regulated product . Medical device preferred. Alternate experience in Mil-Aero, Automotive and Avionics (note to supplier- we will reject candidates with only startup experience).• Proven ability to develop complete hardware solution ''cradle to grave" (concept through production/manufacturing release).• Experience with microprocessor/microcontroller and/or FPGA based digital design• Experience in high speed digital design (computer architectures, Ethernet/ USB/ I3C RS232 busses) and impedance control applied to printed circuit board and cabling technology.• Experience with schematic and PCB design tools- OrCad, Allegro, HyperLynx highly desired.• Experience with the printed circuit board manufacturing process in effectively applying DFM/ DFT/Design for EMC - Experience with digital and/or analog (sensors, data acquisition, power systems) design. - FPGA design using Verilog development languages and associated tools a plus - Experience with SPICE analog simulation a plus. - Experience in use of tools to test and troubleshoot electrical circuit boards such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer and chipscopes. Nice to have skills: - Experience in investigational analysis methods such as DFMEA, Design of Experiments a plus. - Statistical methods in evaluating and determining design parameters/limits. - Reliability engineering tools (PTC - Relex, Mini Tab) - Familiarity with IPC standards and the IEC 60601 family of safety standards a plus. Must Have" Soft Skills:• Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.• Highly motivated, energetic and self-sufficient. Passion for creating high quality medical device hardware.• Ability to work effectively on a team or individually with minimal or no supervision.
