Miles of scenic trails and parks available for recreational activity Work Hours/Shift: Full Time / Days You Will Be Responsible For: Assists with the care of the newborn at deliveries. Maintains skills in neonatal resuscitation. Demonstrates assessment skills in both high risk and low risk obstetrical patients. Recognition of maternal and/or newborn problems are identified and reported to the physician. Assists with the transfer of newborn to another facility when indicated. Notifies charge nurse and House Supervisor of anticipated transfer. Notifies all surgical team members of emergency and scheduled surgical procedures. Accurately identifies and bands newborn, mother and significant others with matching identification bands. Documents band identification number appropriately in medical record. Demonstrates knowledge and provides support to natural mother, agencies, and foster or adoptive parents when newborn is for adoption. Demonstrates knowledge of individual role in Hospital infant abduction plan. Reviews patient''s history prior to beginning physical assessment and incorporates findings into the exam.Performs physical patient assessments/reassessments on a regular basis in accordance department standards. Pertinent data is collected using appropriate assessment techniques. Incorporates available technology to aid in physical assessment. Prioritizes data collection by assessing the patient''s immediate condition or needs. Is able to discern critical findings and timely communicates changes in the patient''s condition to the appropriate patient care providers. Data collection is inclusive of the patient, significant others and health care providers when appropriate. Qualifications What You Will Need: Current Texas RN License or a Compact RN License from a NCLA Compact State BLS certification from the AHA. Job Summary: AdventHealth System Department of Maternal Child Health is divided into 4 areas. We have a 22-bed Couplet Care/gyn surgical unit, which consists of post-partum mothers and their newborns, GYN surgical patients, and occasional med/surg overflow, Labor and Delivery and Nursery/Special Care Nursery.
