We are seeking a detail- oriented, high motivated Staff Accountant. The position will report directly to Controller.General Responsibilities:* Primary duty is to prepare timely and accurate general contractor payment applications for monthly billings. * Monthly review of job cost activity ensuring consistent and proper coding. * Accounts payable for construction related invoices including subcontractors and suppliers, including change orders, commitments and contracts. * Assist with monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal ID numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments. * Input and maintenance of construction budgets for projects in Sage. * Third party construction job reporting. * Preparation of monthly construction job profit reports. * Manage parent vendor accounts with multiple credit cards/users. * Assist with maintaining historical records by scanning and filing documents. * Support management on due diligence and job completion close outs. * Special projects as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience in construction/real estate required. * Sage software experience preferred. * Ability to read and comprehend general contractor and subcontractor contracts. * Must be computer proficient; Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Adobe Acrobat. * High comfort level in fast pace environment. * Strong desire to meet and achieve department and organization goals. * Self-starter with solid organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities or reprioritization of projects. * Attention to detail with strong analytical skills. * Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and a background check.
