ResponsibilitiesAbout Summerlin Hospital:Summerlin Hospital is a 485-bed hospital featuring emergency services; a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month; a Children''s Medical Center with a NICU, a pediatric ICU and separate pediatric ER; advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women''s health and oncology care. Summerlin Hospital is an accredited Chest Pain with PCI facility and a Primary Stroke Center, and has received multiple awards from the American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines program.Job Description:Provides surgical assistance in the operating room to the primary surgeon during surgical procedures as a Certified First Assistant (CFA), and functions in the role of a surgical technician when not performing as a CFA as needed, determined by the operating room charge nurse. Knowledge of surgical procedures, supplies, patient and room turnovers. The CFA is responsible for training staff, maintenance of instruments and equipment for specified surgical procedures.QualificationsJob Requirements:Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and completion of a Specialty course/ or equivalent. BSN preferred.Experience: 1 - 2 year acute care experience or successful completion of an approved specialty course. License/Certification: This position requires Current RN license in the State of Nevada., Current BLS Certification, Current ACLS Certification, Current PALS Certification (pediatric patients) or current NRP Certification (Neonatal patients) as required by department. Other certification as may be required by facility, specialty or department. Other:Must comply with hospital-based competencies regarding blood-borne pathogen exposure, age specific care and patient safety.Note:An RN graduate is a nurse who has completed a course of study at a school of nursing and is eligible for the NCLEX. The RN graduate performs directly under the supervision of the Charge Nurse or RN designee. The Nevada State Board of Nursing must grant an interim RN license.Testing:Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
