Data Entry Lab Associate

Staffmark has a Data Entry Lab Associate position available in downtown Nashville on 1st shift! The Lab Data Entry Associate will be responsible for sample receipt, accessing and rework within the laboratory. JOB DETAILS: Title: Data Entry Lab Associate Type: Temporary (long-term); Full-time Duration: 6 months with great possibility for extension Pay: $14.00-$15.00 an hour Location: Nashville, TN Shift: Wednesday - Sunday 9:00AM-7:30PM Start Date: 12/7/2021 ***Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19*** ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Open all delivered lab specimens verifying sample identity and testing requirements are met Log specimens into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) ensuring accurate demographic and testing request entry Maintain positive specimen identification through the use of barcodes and 'Chain of Custody'' procedures Aliquot specimens for initial requested testing and facilitate delivery to appropriate laboratories Store specimens per storage requirements allowing for ease of location of samples post-initial testing Aliquot and facilitate delivery of specimens to appropriate laboratory section for additional, repeat or confirmation testing as directed through the LIMS system or by laboratory leadership Comply with all individual and team and laboratory safety and quality procedures and requirements Verify samples/specimens for discard through Horizon Notify Shipping/Receiving/QC Departments of low stock and/or needed supplies Communicate with coworkers, clients, vendors, and visitors professionally and respectfully Ensure a tidy/clean workspace at all times MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Bend, twist or stoop on a repetitive and continuous basis Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time to compute, examine, and interpret data Operate various business instruments, including computers, printers/scanners/fax machines, requiring manual dexterity Read paperwork and computer monitors, requiring visual acuity EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required Bachelor''s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred Relevant laboratory experience strongly preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The Data Entry Lab Associate will perform his or her work in a laboratory environment and will have occupational exposure to blood and other infectious disease materials as well as potentially hazardous chemicals.
