This position will work scheduled clinical shifts, provide medical supervision to advanced practice providers, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and conduct administrative duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation:Medical doctorate (MD) from an accredited university.Experience:Two (2) years post residency clinical experience in emergency medicine preferred. Licenses/Certifications:Board certification or Board eligibility in Emergency Medicine from either ABEM or AOBEM.Licensed in the state of employment. Must be willing to add licenses in states where services are requested.ResponsibilitiesRapidly responds to telehealth calls and remotely assesses patient''s physical and acute psychiatric health to determine triage and treatment decisions.Collaborates with onsite medical staff to facilitate physical and acute psychiatric examinations, lab evaluations, x-rays, and EKGs as needed.Recommends follow up care as indicated.Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of all assessment.Provides clinical oversight of assessment and reassessment, ongoing provision of care activities, and completion of all associated documentation by Advanced Practice Practitioners.Provides on-call coverage for afterhours care of patients.Treats medical problems including pharmacotherapy.Provides education on the medical diagnoses to patients and onsite medical staff.Collaborates and communicates with staff in other disciplines in an effective and professional manner.Understands and complies with special precautions, disaster and fire safety procedures, and abuse reporting. Is knowledgeable of care and treatment needs of patients of different ages. Provides individualized care and treatment that is consistent with /sensitive to the age and lifespan developmental needs of each patient.Wellpath is an EOE/Minorities/Females/Vet/Disability Employer
