As the Senior Engineer, Technology Infrastructure, you will perform various roles including, but not limited to, research and design of data protection architectures in centralized and remote site scenarios, installation, configuration and hardening of backup infrastructures, general systems monitoring and resolution of daily backup issues. What you''ll do on a typical day:Design and build of backup infrastructure Participate in the evaluation of new technology solutionsBuild/support automation to streamline routine processes in the setup and reporting of backup processesDevelop robust and cost-effective data protection strategies for core and edge datacenter locations as well as hybrid cloud deploymentsMaintains relationships with third party IT vendors and/or software/hardware suppliers in regard to Backup/Recover strategyLead day to day global operational activities for Backup/Recovery teams Problem analysis and resolution of daily backup issues working with Help Desk Ticket SystemResponsible for advanced troubleshooting of Backup/Recovery related issues including support for point in time recovery of Oracle and MS-SQL database systemsCreate and Manage Dataset, Schedule, and Retention PolicyEnsure proper data protection for critical system/application infrastructure via routine exception reportingProduce regular reports to assist in cost recovery, capacity planning and consolidation Responsible for capacity planning and performance analysis of backup and recovery infrastructurePerform maintenance of Backup/Recovery infrastructure Perform software and hardware monitoring and maintenance including upgradesWhat you need to succeed at XPO:At a minimum, you''ll need:Bachelor''s degree or equivalent related work or military experience2 years of experience in Backup/RecoveryBasic system administration knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systemsProficiency in VMwareIt''d be great if you also have:5-7 years IT experience3-5 years of experience in Backup/Recovery working in an enterprise environmentExperience with cyber event defenseExperience with scripting languages and leveraging 3rd party APIsExperience with DevOps automationExperience working with IT vendors and/or software/hardware suppliersBe part of something big.We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
