Expert Systems Engineer

EXPERT SYSTEMS ENGINEER CAREER OPPORTUNITY Our client is looking for a seasoned Systems Engineer to continue the evolution of their big data framework for speech and text analytics. The team you will be joining provides bedrock functionality for software products, primarily consisting of highly distributed components allowing for multi-server processing of large amounts of data. EXPERT SYSTEMS ENGINEER PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Your role will include building up testbeds of servers to validate products as part of development and QA, mirroring deployed systems to help debug customer issues, using AWS to provide scale testing, and assisting QA with development of automated test suites. While core feature development is not a primary role, strong Java coding skills will assist in debugging as well as development of test suites. EXPERT SYSTEMS ENGINEER ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Respond to escalated requests for production support, including off-hours in emergency situations Update developer, deployment, and support product documentation for deployment and sizing recommendations Participate in agile software development lifecycle, to include providing ideas for refinement EXPERT SYSTEMS ENGINEER REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 10 years professional systems or software experience Minimum two years professional server-side Java development AWS expertise (EC2, network configuration, Windows instances, CloudFormation) Familiarity with REST principles and implementation Windows system administration or deployment EXPERT SYSTEMS ENGINEER DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Deep understanding of the use of AWS in non-typical ways including Windows instances Experience with one or more non-cloud deployment automation tools like Salt, Chef, or Puppet Experience in development of automated testing Experience with Gradle, Spring Boot, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch RT
