Job Description

Main Purpose: Assist in the administration of corporate safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Key Relationships: Internal Area/Regional Safety ManagersDivision Manager, Area General Manager, VPShop Manager/Dispatch, Mechanics, Technicians, Laborers, Administrative StaffExternal Professional Associations, CustomersSpecific Role Responsibilities: Build positive relationships with operational counterparts across all levels of assigned areaAnalyze safety metrics for preventive maintenance planning, action plans, and forecastingAssures strategic alignment with company''s overall safety goals and programsAssists in development, implementation, and or leads all corporate-wide safety initiativesTraining employees at all levels to reinforce safety goalsConduct regular walk through inspections of construction areas including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) developmentIdentify, document and recommend resolution of hazardous/potential hazardous conditions; follow through to insure corrections have been madeInvestigate injury and property damage accidentsCompile data, photographs, etc.; prepare all pertinent forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, local regulations associated with accidentsConduct various industrial hygiene samplings, such as gas, O2, noise test to insure safe working conditionsIssue various entry permits (i.e. to confine spaces) as required.Assist in conducting employee/craft and insurance inspectors on walk through tours. May accompany federal, state and insurance inspectors on walk through toursAssist in emergency services as required.Assist in maintaining fire protection and grounding systemsPerform additional assignments per supervisor''s direction.Travel: 75%+Associates or Bachelors Degree in an EHS related fieldManagement of decentralized, multi-state employeesProvide regional support across multi-state, multi-locations3 to 5 years of experience in the construction industryProven change leader in EH&S performanceThorough understanding of all federal, state and local company regulations.Formal training in Root Cause Analysis i.e., TAPROOT, APOLLO, 5-Why''Ability to recognize hazardous situations & recommend corrective measures essentialGood interpersonal and communication skills requiredCSP, ASP, OHST, CHST, STS preferredExperience implementing and managing safety programsComputer/Office Machines - Microsoft Work, Excel, OutlookEnglish - proficient in business writing and verbal communicationValid driver''s license and acceptable motor vehicle record required when duties require use of motor vehicleAbility to pass pre-employment and random screening for illegal substancesPenhall Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
