A Staff Accountant position is now open within the GBS Belfast Regional Centre, Record to Report team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within this new and developing business. Key Responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to : Preparation, posting and review of monthend related journals Completion and Review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations Participate in monthend closing review meetings Perform all activities to a high standard and in compliance with Internal and Sarbanes Oxley controls Identifying and supporting process improvement opportunities Working alongside the Global Delivery Centre in preparing for and participating in meetings with our customers Monitoring and supporting GDC performance against Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Metrics Foster and promote a customer relationship oriented culture within the Belfast GBS team Supporting the Global GBS team with other adhoc activities NB. Essential Qualifications/Experience • A degree in a relevant discipline (Finance or Accounting), or equivalent professional certification status or level of experience • Relevant experience working in a Finance/Accounting Environment, which should include the following: Preparing and posting Journal entries - covering areas such as accruals, prepayments, invoice allocations, inventory movements and provisions, Fixed assets and depreciation Balance sheet reconciliations including preparation of supporting documentation Working in a customer facing team, responding to queries in a timely manner Preparing, maintaining and following process documents in line with controls requirements Experience of working to strict deadlines • Capable of interpreting Financial reports and/or results and identifying required action where necessary • Display understanding and practical experience of purpose and application of internal accounting controls • Proficient working knowledge of computer based ERP or Financial systems • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel • Proficient in English (written & oral) Desirable Qualifications/Experience Experience of working in a Shared Services Environment Working towards a qualification with one of the recognised UK/Ireland Accounting Bodies (i.e. CIMA, ACCA, ICAI or ICAEW) Experience of working in a multicultural environment Practical experience of Accounting in a Manufacturing Company Please include details of the finance roles in which you have practical experience, in your application NB.
