You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of power and transportation infrastructure megaprojects. In the civil group, you will join a team of elite engineers that are reinventing how we deliver engineering outcomes and are redefining the limits of what is possible. District OverviewKiewit Infrastructure Engineering''s Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. LocationThis role will be based out of Kiewit''s Woodcliff Lake, NJ office. Coordination time will take place at project offices (primarily in the NY/NJ area but extending to DC and Chicago metro areas). Focus time can be WFH. The engineering team will meet occasionally in the home office for all staff meetings. Responsibilities• Perform highway and civil design (both conceptual/preliminary and IFC), acting in responsible charge as needed • Execute conventional and 3D(+) engineering design using InRoads, Civil3D, and Trimble Business Center. • Prepare engineering calculation packages complying with department, contractual, and industry standards. • Implement project- and program-specific QA/QC procedures • Use data-driven design to solve engineering problems involving cost, time, geometric, and human constraints • Develop tools that optimize data flows between various parts of the project lifecycle Qualifications• 4+ years of civil / highway design experience • PE license • Experience designing civil/highway infrastructure or similar projects • Understand typical design-build project risk items and mitigation strategies • Basic understanding of programming (e.g. python or C) is a plus • Basic understanding of probabilistic approaches (design or cost estimating) is a plus • Experience developing construction plans (transportation or power transmission projects preferred) • Ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and visually Additional Requirements: Absent an approved exemption, due to federal, state, local, provincial and/or client-requirements, this position may require an individual to be fully vaccinated by an FDA-approved or authorized COVID-19 vaccine or undergo weekly testing upon hire and as a condition of continued employment.
