Job Description Physical and chemical characterization of novel materials and intermediates used in the manufacture of pharmaceutical solid dosage forms. Support formulation drug product development through hands-on generation of accurate and precise analytical chemistry data using routine laboratory techniques such as liquid chromatography (HPLC, UPLC), NMR (liquid), mass spectrometry, vibrational spectroscopy, gas chromatography (GC), USP/EP dissolution testing, Karl Fischer titration, etc. Characterization of solid samples using microscopy (polarized light and SEM), thermal analysis (DCS, TGA, etc), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), Raman or NIR spectroscopy and water vapor sorption instruments. Ability to work in a GLP or GMP environment with appropriate documentation and safety practices. Development of assay/purity methods and assessment of method robustness/ruggedness Development of dissolution methodologies that will provide some measure of an in vivo / in vitro relationship and serve as a quality control procedure. Development and execution of studies to ascertain physical and chemical stability in the solution and solid state. Assess stability risks by evaluating impact of processing changes and on product performance. This could involve DoEs and accelerated stability studies. Interpreting data and authoring technical memos and summary presentations Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in chemistry or other science related degree concentration, or equivalent directly related experience Laboratory experience and some experience in GMP analytical chemistry, preferred Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills. Experience with eLN and data trending. Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitude. Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
