About the Job We are currently seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Engineer to provide enterprise-level support for our customers'' automated systems. Excellence in customer service is a must. A background in electrical and/or controls with a focus on conveyor systems, sorters and/or robotics is required. 5+ years of experience working within the material handling, logistics, distribution, and fulfillment sector also required. Candidate must be self-motivated, take ownership of customer issues reported and see those problems through to resolution. Ideal candidates will be comfortable researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and identifying solutions to resolve any issues presented. This engineer must be able to provide support to our customers, internal teams and vendors via phone, web, email, chat and teleconferencing services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Help customers and team members troubleshoot issues and provide guidance and direct support to resolve the problem • Troubleshoot using electrical schematics, PLC code, SCADA systems, software code and technical manuals • Drive complex problems to a resolution as quickly and efficiently as possible • Perform/supervise modifications to restore and improve system performance and reliability • Maintain a high level of professionalism with customers and work to establish a positive rapport with every point of contact • Must be available to be on-call as an escalation point during non-business hours • Be productive and efficient while working remotely with minimal supervision QUALIFICATIONS: • 5+ years working with material handling, distribution, logistics and other industrial equipment • 5+ years of electrical/PLC/software/mechanical experience, respective degree or certifications a plus SKILLS/ABILITIES: • PLC experience: Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens • VFD experience: Allen Bradley, SEW, Eaton, ABB • SCADA experience: Ignition, FTView, Indusoft, Wonderware • Understand low-voltage control circuits and high-voltage power circuits • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, drafting and red-lining a plus • CAD experience a plus • Working knowledge of Windows, Unix/Linux systems, utilities, and basic scripting • Working knowledge of computer hardware • Strong leadership skills • Excellent client-facing/customer service skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong analytical and solution driven skills • Ability to diffuse tension and work the issue at hand • Ability to handle highly urgent and production-critical issues • Aptitude for problem-solving and logical thinking • Excellent understanding of OSHA and other safety standards in an industrial setting This job description describes the general nature and level of work expected of a person assigned to this position.
