* We are looking for a Senior Accounting Consultant who can assist on Year end close and to start documenting the processes and procedures for SOX. * Someone who is experienced at a Controller level and who has cost accounting background. * The client uses Onestream for reporting and their ERP is Epicor, not required* The position will be onsite and will run for 3 to 6 months.GENERAL NATURE OF JOB:Responsible for maintaining accurate and reliable financial reporting along with ensuring appropriate accounting controls are utilized. Perform various financial functions of a detailed and complex nature. Under minimum supervision, carries out assignments in general ledger accounting, assist during month end close, and maintains the General Ledger Operating system. Assist and/or support, globally, other Garlock entities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Responsible for assisting with the compilation and analysis of financial data during month end close. Assist with review of financial statements and provide in depth explanations for significant expense variances. Assist with the review of accrual/liability accounts to ensure balances are accurate and appropriate. Perform reconciliations and analysis of accounts.Responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and reporting. Is responsible for preventing inaccuracies in financial statements by following internal control systems and adopting proper policies for financial reporting.Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts along with Inter/Intra company transactions, in a timely manner.Assist with the completion of quarterly and annual Corporate schedules, the Corporate Tax Package, annual audit requirements and other corporate requirements as assigned.Promote a continuous focus on process improvement to improve efficiency and effectiveness of accounting and control processes and support implementation of related EnPro projects. Effective proactive thinker and ability to challenge the process.Assist with the design and implementation of an Accounting Shared Services model.Abilityto collaborate and actively participate in cross functional teams.
