Job Number: 42994Facilities TechnicianJob Description:We are seeking an experienced Facilities Technician to join a globally recognized semiconductor company at their Durham NC facility. In this role, you will be reporting to the Instrument and Control Manager and work with facilities in support of achieving world-class performance. Generally, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day inspections and maintenance of facilities toxic gas detection systems (TGMS) including the installation and removal of components and overall performance of a fixed TGMS, associated audio/visual circuits, and control circuits. This person will work a base 8-hour shift but must be flexible to assist on off hours when needed. Pay is based on experience.Responsibilities:Perform required inspections and maintenance of fixed TGMS componentsRequest and maintain TGMS components for expeditious repairsIdentify and correct problems with TGMS components and networkAssist in the development and revision of fixed TGMS programs (level I or II tech)Perform PLC programing of the TGMSPerform troubleshooting of the fixed TGMSReport and track TGMS performance indicatorsCross train with Fire System Technicians as needed to ensure a working knowledge and understanding of Fire Detection and Suppression systemsPerform additional duties and tasks as assignedEducation Requirements:High School diploma required. College or advanced Technical education preferredDesired Background/Skills:Qualifications:2-4 years of recent experience working on low voltage systems and components and controls experienceExperience with PLC?s and Programming of PLC?sGeneral knowledge of hazardous materialExperienced with basic CPU ProgrammingMust be an assertive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and directionGeneral understanding of low voltage electrical systems requiredMust have a general knowledge of electronics and associated maintenance equipmentMust be able to work in a 24 hour on-call rotationMust be able to wear appropriate PPE, climb ladders, worked in confined spaces, and work around hazardous materialsOther Information: Greene Resources is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
