For more information, visit of Role:Playing an essential role in GF''s IT technology transformation, the Enterprise Network Architect will be based out of the US location (Malta NY or Austin TX) and will be responsible for overseeing network architecture for global locations GlobalFoundries. This includes the ongoing development of GF''s platform centric technology strategy, and optimization and operationalization of network and security services across functional domains. The position requires and strong working knowledge of network and security platforms and concepts, including SDN/SDWAN, IPFabric, Cloud networking and threat prevention.Essential Responsibilities Include: Influence network strategy and drive transformation: By partnering with business and IT leadership, the network architect will provide strategic roadmaps to promote and maximize the value of and performance of network services, risk mitigation, operation automation and governance. Maximize value derived from network services: Foster value creation through the adoption of native software defined networks, autoscale and NaaS/PaaS Enable effective network services governance: Outline best practices for network solution design, risk mitigation and change management. Secure cloud services: Aid in the analysis of cloud service security requirements and solutions, and work with the chief information security officer (CISO) and domain teams to ensure that cloud services are secure Lead network architecture collaboration: Collaborate with domain leaders, application and data architects, application developers, infrastructure and operations teams, to understand network availability and performance requirements and model a strategy accordingly Other Responsibilities: Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programsQualification:Required Qualifications: Education: A bachelor''s or higher degree in computer science, information systems or a related study. Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in Enterprise Networks and security, with at least 6 years in cloud network design In-depth experience of designing and implementing network solutions including IaaS, Security aaS and NaaS Significant Hands-on experience with Cisco and Palo Alto Networks in a global 24x7 operations Expert level understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, NLB Strong understanding of network security as well as next generation platforms leveraging AI and ML Experience with the semiconductor or manufacturing industry and CCNP/CCIE is highly desirable Preferred Qualifications: Effective conceptualization, pattern recognition and teaming skills. Business acumen, and the ability to communicate to executives, business domain stakeholders and technical staff alike. Understanding of leading cloud services platforms and cloud adoption approaches. Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, as well as network and information security practices.
