Types of Analyst Careers:IT Systems Analyst II supporting Enterprise and City Hall Applications (3)- Hiring Range: $68,000-$75,000IT Systems Analyst II supporting Public Works and The Boise Airport (2)- Hiring Range: $68,000-$75,000 IT Systems Analyst Sr supporting the Boise Public Library and Boise Parks & Recreation Hiring Range: $86,000-$91,000Please include a current resume and cover letter to be considered. Essential Functions:IT Systems Analyst II:Acts as system owner and technical expert for configuration, installation, future planning, and support of enterprise systems. Applies software patches and updates or other modifications necessary to meet service level agreement. Identifies and troubleshoots technical issues; develops and implements solutions, escalating as appropriate. Implements enhancements using system-specific tools, scripting, and entry-level programming. Creates and maintains technical documentation. (30%)Gathers business requirements and identifies reporting needs. Manages and develops reports using Microsoft Reporting Services and PowerBI. Designs reports with an application-wide view to maximize reusability. Develops SQL queries to analyze relational data to facilitate business inquiries and support quality system data. (30%)Maintains a thorough understanding of supported system capability and business use. Collaborates with business owners to identify and document relevant business processes and requirements. Identifies enhancements needed in existing applications or processes to meet user requirements. Assists in feasibility studies for software systems and makes recommendations regarding product selection. (15%)Meets with business customers to ensure enterprise solutions are meeting business objectives. Provides assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology. Assists in evaluating, installing, configuring, and deploying new software systems, and/or enhancements to existing systems. Serves as a liaison and facilitator between business units to assist in addressing and resolving issues. (15%)Stays current on technology in this field regarding security, performance and coding practices. Provides mentoring, guidance, and support to team members. Attends seminars, conferences and training classes. (10%)IT Systems Analyst Sr:Maintains a high-level technical and functional expertise on supported systems. Ensures that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identifies and resolves systems issues. Prepares an analysis of costs and benefits so that management can decide if system upgrades or new implementations are financially worthwhile. Devises ways to add new functionality to existing systems. Designs and implements new systems by choosing and configuring hardware and software. Oversees the installation and configuration of new systems to customize them for the organization. Analyzes, interprets, and presents research findings for preparing design specifications; analyzes specifications and instructions to develop appropriate systems and programs; designs effective information technology solutions; maintains multiple information technology systems (40%)Provides technical expertise and recommends new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance existing systems. Identifies opportunities which will improve efficiency of business processes. Coordinates application development for multiple projects. Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues, works with vendors or programmers when necessary to resolve issues. Identifies modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements. Analyzes data contained in the system databases and identifies data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and implement solutions. Provides assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology. Writes technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc. Evaluates, installs, configures, and deploys new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the business. Coordinates feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and gives advice based on findings. Contributes to pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas and makes the appropriate recommendations. (30%)Assists in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new development projects. Serves as a liaison and facilitator between all business units to assist in addressing and resolving IT software issues. Ensures appropriate standards and procedures are adhered to during the development process to support a quality deliverable (20%)Trains, mentors and works with co-workers on projects to help familiarize team with new concepts, applications or technologies. Provides feedback for code reviews. Facilitates training seminars for peers and stays current on technology, researches technical bulletins, white papers regarding security, performance and coding practices. Attends seminars, conferences and training classes. (10%) Performs other duties as assigned.
