Electrical Design Engineer We are currently seeking to fill a key Electrical Design Engineer position for a highly respected global heavy equipment manufacturer. Our winning candidate will be a key member of an experienced engineering team and will play a key role in the development for a variety of construction equipment product lines which are Designed & Built in the USA! What You Will Do: As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will assist in the design and implementation of both current product optimization and new product development. You will work with the electrical and software development team (as well as additional stakeholders such as product management, manufacturing, and purchasing) to see projects through from conception to production, and beyond. Design:Create and maintain electrical schematics and wire harness drawingsAssist in the definition of software functions (machine control and HMI)Acquire and analyze electrical system dataResearch and understand the applicable industry and government standards (ISO, SAE, etc.)Documentation:Supports the creation of machine documentation (schematics, manuals, training, troubleshooting)Create and manage software requirement documentationCreate and manage testing documentationProduct Support:Provide hands on manufacturing support to keep production schedule on timeWork with field technicians and support services to investigate and resolve customer concernsProduct Testing:Define testing requirements for new software functions (machine control and HMI)Use data acquisition equipment to collect performance informationCreate test setups for functional validationEvaluate results and determine/coordinate appropriate issue resolutionTroubleshoot issues as they arise during prototypingWHAT YOU WILL NEED: Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering3-5 years design engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentProficient knowledge of electronic circuit design, components, systems, and controlsPractical knowledge of data acquisition (discrete signals and CAN)Practical knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, UDS, J1939)Practical CAD software experienceProficient computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPointPreferred Qualifications:Prior experience with construction and/or industrial equipmentPrior experience with the following CAD tools: Siemens NX, Zuken E3Prior experience with following software development tools: JIRA, Confluence, Vector CANalyzerFamiliarity with C programming and/or Sontheim MDT Authoring Tool is a plus
