Senior Structural Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer PE for our office, located in Miami, FL (along with telework options) Responsibilities: The Senior Structural Engineer PE will oversee multiple projects ranging in value and will participate in the allocation of resources to ensure an efficient, timely, and quality project, while achieving and improving the profit margin. The Senior Structural Engineer PE will be responsible for the following: Supervises junior structural engineers, designers, and engineering technicians in the performance of engineering services Develops and approves the appropriate schedules for prime and / or sub-consultant work and project invoicing Coordinates with other engineering disciplines, architects, landscape architects, environmental consultants and other project consultants Research and advises on the best engineering solution to meet with client''s needs and budget Establishes detailed programs for the coordination of engineering field work activities Organizes and conducts feasibility and planning studies Preform engineering analysis of design options and prepare associated reports Leads the preparation of engineering calculations and technical reports required; for the design of projects and supervises the development of construction drawings and specifications Produces detailed designs and documentation packages including plans, specifications, cost estimates and construction schedules for the construction and implementation of vertical design and rehabilitation projects Attend project meetings as a Project Manager or Senior Structural Engineer as required Schedule meetings as necessary to clarify or settle major project issues Works with contracts Administration Department to ensure that subcontracts are drafted and executed in a timely fashion to facilitate project schedules Prepares proposals for engineering services. Must be able to develop man-hour estimates to complete prior to and during engineering tasks and be able to assess level of completion at all stages of design Investigates sites to determine the most suitable I infrastructure improvements for proposed construction Reviews / Approves project sub-consultant / vendor invoices along with assigned Project Accountant in a timely manner Closely monitors all sub- consultant performance in order to ascertain that each sub-consultant follows all provisions and requirements Manages and monitors the shop drawings submittal and RFI process as it pertains to contractual scope of work during the construction phase of assigned projects Ensure that changes are correctly updated into project budgets and other job tracking mechanisms Efficiently completes project closeout in accordance with policies and procedures Develop new business opportunities relative to a client or group of clients Communicates the planned means and methods of completing project design to appropriate parties associated with the project to ensure individual understanding of goals and responsibilities Responsible for project compliance with all local, state and federal regulations applicable to a project''s design Interfaces with project owners and/ or contractors on behalf of our client Assumes responsibility for project profit margins and manages financial aspects of the project Monitors and maintains the minimum profit projected at job start Reports to appropriate personnel deviations in margins, cost to complete "Projections" or other matters affecting projected margins Mitigates the effects of deviations to the project budget Ensure quality standards of the contract are included in all subcontracts and other agreements Always maintains excellent customer satisfaction levels by timely addressing client concerns Assures that all correspondence, submittals, drawings, specifications, reports. etc., are produced with in a high level of professionalism Coordinates and cooperates with Senior Engineers and Technical Leads in multi-discipline contracts to assure the success of the assigned projects Cooperates, participates, and encouraging the participation of others in corporate and outside professional development programs Perform QC/QA on all work from the structural department
